Technical Buyer (m/f/d)

Your range of tasks will include the operational and strategic management of our suppliers. You will assume a central role on the assigned product portfolio and ensure the availability of material and high-performance suppliers for our on-site production. Our configurable and customer-specific products and systems are one of the keys of our success and the basis for your exciting new task.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Handling the entire procurement process from the inquiry to the order placement over to delivery date tracking and inventory monitoring
  • Management of complex procurement scenarios such as make-or-buy, multi-level external production, multisourcing, kanban, consignment, safety stock, etc.
  • Negotiation of the best possible prices and framework agreements, taking into account demanding technical requirements and quality standards
  • Close collaboration with suppliers to ensure medium to long-term demands as well as the technical side of quality
  • Search for new suppliers and active steering of the qualification process based on technical specifications
  • Carrying out the supplier evaluation and tracking the agreed measures (supplier development)
  • Proactive action and, if necessary, coordination and escalation in the event of supply bottlenecks
  • Processing of complaints and returns in cooperation with internal departments
  • Delivery note/invoice control, price maintenance and stock taking participation
  • Close coordination with production, storage, work preparation, development and finance

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Technical education or study with additional commercial qualification, or relevant professional experience
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a comparable position in the manufacturing industry of complex products
  • High technical affinity (metal processing technologies, precision mechanics, electronics, pneumatics)
  • Flexible and solution-oriented despite time pressure
  • Very good negotiation skills, as well as an independent and committed way of working
  • Extensive experience in dealing with MS Excel and ERP systems (preferably Business Central)
  • Full professional proficiency in German and English (at least C1)
  • Enjoy working in a busy, fast-paced international environment
