Quality Engineer (m/f/d)
Objectives of the position:
- Preventing quality issues in mass production (zero-defect strategy).
- Ensuring on-time deliveries and compliance with technical standards.
- Continuously improving supplier performance
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Preventive Quality Assurance: Ensuring the quality of purchased parts as early as the development phase, including concept review and maturity assessment.
- Supplier Management: Selection, qualification, and development of suppliers (domestic/international), as well as conducting process audits (e.g., according to VDA 6.3).
- Sampling & Approval: Handling the sampling process (PPAP/VDA 2) for new parts and approving parts in accordance with requirements and specifications.
- Complaint Management: Analysis of purchased part defects (8D report), initiation of corrective actions with the supplier, and monitoring their effectiveness. Including determination of further handling of defective or suspected defective components
- Risk assessment: in case of deviations
- Interface function: Close collaboration with Purchasing, Development (Engineering), and Production to optimize the supply chain.
- Monitoring: of KPIs as part of the continuous improvement process
- Data analysis: Evaluation and preparation of statistics.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Education: A successfully completed technical degree (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or similar) or a comparable qualification (technician/master craftsman) with relevant experience.
- Professional experience: Several years of experience in quality management, ideally in the field of purchased parts management or in the automotive industry.
- Technical expertise: Knowledge of quality methods (APQP, FMEA, VDA 6.3, PPAP, CONTROL PLAN), reading drawings, and regulatory requirements (ISO 9001).
- IT proficiency: Very strong experience with Excel, SharePoint, and ERP systems
- QKT: Thinking and acting based on quality, cost, and schedule
- Process-oriented thinking: Holistic thinking and action based on the process chain
- Continuous improvement: Identifying potential for improvement within your own area of responsibility and along the process chain, and implementing these improvements
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits
- Assertiveness
- Strong communication skills and business-level proficiency in German (C2) and English (C1)
- Enthusiasm for technical detail
- Distinctly methodical and systematic approach to work
- At least 3–5 years of professional experience as a Quality Engineer (m/f/d)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
