Senior Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d)

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of new equipment for semiconductor/microelectronics fabrication
  • Create continuous improvement projects for mechanical and automation aspects of the equipment
  • Drive the completion of mechanical design and builds for every equipment
  • Support the service and applications team by resolving technical issues during machine assembly or on-site customer factory
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction by redesigning products for efficiency and manufacturing robustness.
  • Identify and qualify new sub-suppliers
  • Work closely with suppliers to implement cost reduction initiatives and performance improvement enhancements of custom components and assemblies
  • Assist with creating and reviewing equipment manuals for content and accuracy

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or similar qualification
  • Several years of experience in electromechanical product design and PLC programming (Beckhoff, Siemens and others)
  • Profound knowledge in automation desirable
  • Experience in troubleshooting and error analysis
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D mechanical design software essential Understanding of mechanical and electronic assemblies
  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills and ability to work in a team
  • Skilled at planning, prioritizing, and high level of commitment
  • Good knowledge of German and English
  • The position requires ca. 20% domestic and ca. 20% international travel
